I want bright LEDs and 6k seems like a good color, don't really enjoy blue lights so don't want to go a higher temperature. This shot illustrates the difference in color better. Of course, it looks cooler (as far as temperature goes) by comparison. As you can see, the former doesnt have the blue-ish tint that many fear.

I'm probably going to go for those, they seem the best choice for now. Here we see a head on shot (okay, slightly above-ish) of the headlights. This isn’t surprising because an HID headlight produces 3000-5000 lumens while LED produces double. Theyre somewhere between reflectors and a proper HID projector on the glare scale. Hence, it’s safer and easier to avoid potential danger. Depending on if they have squirrel finders you can very well still blind people with HIDs in halogen projectors. Contrastingly, HID and LED produce much brighter lights.

There is a member on here that has them on his SC, and he seems to really like them.I was looking at the OPT7 LED Headlight Bulbs w/ Clear Arc-Beam, they are for $100. What’s The Difference First things first. In a high beam configuration, 1200 lumens is the highest light halogen can illuminate. They're also 6,000 kelvin bulbs rated for 7,000 lumens combined. My next set of LED bulbs will be closer to 4,300 kelvin if I can find a set.Īnother LED bulb I originally considered buying was the OPT7 LED Headlight Bulbs w/ Clear Arc-Beam. I'm assuming this is due to the 6,000 kelvin color rating. In the city, the lights project really far (i'm judging based on the road signs reflecting back), but the usable light in front of me gets washed out by the city lights. And they seem to lean towards a higher 'Blue Look' per temperature rating, so when you order up a 4500K, or a 6000K, youre more likely to get 5000K and 6500K. In the canyons the lights work great and light up the entire road. The imported HID people (inexpensive) arent held to a real strict standard for their advertisements on bulb color/temperatures. Discover the differences between LED and HID headlights. This is not to be confused with Xenon or HID bulbs they don’t necessarily mean the same thing. Learn everything you need to know about halogen, HID, and LED yellow fog lights in our Ultimate Guide. HID bulbs in the range of 4500K to 5500K are whiter while still retaining a little bit of the yellowish-ness (not a real word, but. They're 6,000 kelvin bulbs and rated for 8,000 lumens combined. HID BULB INSTALLATION TIP: Wear gloves, NEVER touch the glass with your bare hands Oil drastically shortens the life of the bulb. This is why we call standard automotive headlights halogen bulbs. Halogen bulbs, no matter how good, are usually rated at around 4000K or below, looking very yellow or orange when compared to a true white light (5500K to 6000K). I don't have any experience with LED bulbs in my SC, but I bought them for my odyssey.
